Christmas Money Wallet

Christmas seemed to come around far too quickly this year. I decided to make this money wallet which nicely holds a £20 for a family member.

RIP our 20's

And so it's begun! The first of my closest friends has turned 30 and we are all soon to follow :(
So in the spirit of this tragic event I have made her a Halloween themed birthday card. I chose this fun Halloween Digi from Meljen's which I coloured up using ProMarkers. I found some great coordinating papers from Michele R Designs which I matted and layered onto black card.

One of the papers had the spiderweb on so I printed that sheet on to swirl vellum from HOTP and fussy cut it as an element to the card. I used the same vellum for the birthday sentiment. I used velum to give the card a peek-a-boo effect, still allowing you to see the image and paper behind it. Finally I added a three gemstones to finish it off.

These two cards are focused on Formula 1. I have coloured one in McLaren and the other in Mercedes team colours. I typed the sentiment then  used Sizzix fancy labels dies for the shape. Finally I distressed the edges using Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers ink pad and matted on a black die cut.

Kittie Cats

My Messy Pets CD-ROM from Create & Craft finally arrived and I've had great fun playing with it. It's so easy to build any picture you want and even recolour the images. I've recoloured the ladies hair so it looks like Sue. Of course Sue loves cats so I added the extra images. I love the ease of creating decoupage images and as you can see from the pictures below I had some fun adding extra layers (fiddly to cut out but look great!). I distressed the edges of the card blank with worn lipstick then finished the card with Candi and a paper bow.

Only Fools & Horses

My dad is a fan of Only Fools and Horses so I went with this theme for his 60th card and cake. My husband is the master cake decorator and I'm the baker, shaper and ideas lady! I couldn't find a digi stamp anywhere so resorted to finding a ready made topper from Ebay. Either way he loved it and the cake went down a treat!

Steampunk

I've seen a few steampunk inspired cards so I thought I'd have a go as I liked this image from Kenny K. This fab sentiment from Ginger works perfectly with it. I chose a vintage style paper from my K &  Company stash and embossed the gears stamp from my Kanban steampunk set on top using Martha Stuart glittered embossing powder.

Simple Snowman

I love this simple Christmas card as it looks like the snowman is looking at the words. It was a great image to colour! I used my wavy edge cutter to add some interest. Its not very clear on the picture but the silver card is also embossed cardstock which says Merry Christmas also.

I have chosen to make two different cards using the same digi stamp and sentiment. I think this digi matches the sentiment perfectly! I also love the embossed card from my stash. I used my paper cutter to cut the wavy edge on both cards.

Hockey

My brother plays a lot of hockey and is in a few different teams, so for his birthday it had to be a hockey card. I discovered tagxedo and had great fun creating the personalised background (word cloud) out of all the words I inputted. Its easy to personalise and the added bonus is that its free! I found a picture of his kit and a great digi from Kenny K. I tried my best to copy his kit and converted the blades on the image in to wheels as he plays roller hockey. I distressed the edges of the word cloud and sentiment with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans. I'm very happy with it and I hope he is too!

Craft stash

Yay my first post! I've been on maternity leave for a few months now and this has lead to me watching lots of crafting TV and surfing the net as I'm feeding or Maisie is sleeping.
I've always loved paper-craft and have found some really inspiring stuff out there which has made me want to have a go. So as my craft stash spreads across the living room, I've decided I better start making some cards and this is how my blog was born. A place for me to store my work and if I'm lucky inspire someone else to get crafting too!
